MicroFTX

The MicroFTX is a low-cost, reconfigurable, and compact Micro-USB breakout board based on the FTDI FT230X full-speed USB Serial UART IC.

Uses

USB to serial interface for microcontroller development or debugging
Reverse-engineering tool with flexible I/O voltages (1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, etc)
Battery charger detection for high-power USB applications (app note)
Bitbang GPIO mode for simple digital input and output

Great product for hacking Kindle

This product works very well for hacking Kindle as it supports 1.8V rs232 signals. I earlier bought something simular from China, but it just did not work as it drew too much current from the RS232 port of the device.

This adapter worked just fine!

Downside was the high shipment cost which were almost as expensive as the adapter itself

Great board

Bought one of these to test some custom drivers I wrote for the chipset, the board works great. Very fast shipping as well, I was expecting to wait a while but the board arrived within a day or two of my ordering it.

The best TTL serial to USB period.

Supported on all platforms, huge fifo, with FTDI's versatility, combined with a tiny but very friendly board with solder jumpers so you can use it on practically anything - 3.3 or 5v power or I/O, just do a quick pass of the soldering iron.

Update: it works well with https://www.tindie.com/products/smokingresistor/s1216f8-gps-board-with-50-hz-update-rate/ which can go at 921600 baud - and needs the much higher baud rates. Make sure to configure the voltage out at 3.3v.

MicroFTX

I'm very happy with the purchase. I had tried to integrate USB into a design a few years back and got stuck integrating the software drivers. The board was extremely easy to integrate and it works flawlessly.

MicroFTX USB-Serial Breakout is wonderful

The MicroFTX USB breakout board works flawlessly and is as small as practical. I have used other USB-serial boards, and this one is by far the best. I have never had a single problem with them. They just work perfectly all the time. I have used other USB-serial boards that have caused me nothing but trouble, but this one has always performed like a dream. I highly recommend them. They are cute and small, and the maker, Jim, is a cool guy. What more can I say?

The smallest and most usefull USB-Serial you'll ever buy

It's tiny but still usable on a breadboard or perfboard, very versatile and easy to configure thanks to the solder bridges, and you've got the possibility to activity led. Perfect for most of my needs.
The size permits to use it in even the most cramped embedded system, add a COM port on routers and so on.

Great USB-serial converter

This is the cutest board I've ever owned. It's become my standard for all embedded systems projects I work on now because of its size and price. Perfect to have when you just need TX, RX and GND (which is 99% of the time). What a great price too. I ended up buying like 10 of these guys.

First tindie buy...what a buy!

Bought this as a fundraiser expecting to wait an age for it to be delivered, Within a week of shipping, it was here! (UK)

Haven't had a chance to fully implement this into my project yet, though testing it with a multimeter, all readings are good! Cant wait to use this in conjunction with a Femtoduino.

This USB to Serial board rocks!

I bought a couple of these just to try them out. I was surprised how easy it was to hook up a Femtoduino to one of these bad boys. Did I mention how fast sketches load? Blazing fast. "Yesterday Shipping" fast. Yep, I'm going to recommend these to everyone. Do yourself a favor. Buy more than one.
