The single best 8-bit retro-computer I've used.
For Zeal 8-bit Computer (Z80 based)
This system is well designed and quite unique in the space given its built-in MMU. The OS is a modernized take on 8-bit systems, borrowing from unix concepts, and even though it is a work in progress it's significantly more straightforward to use for those of us with a unix/linux background. CP/M is a fun novelty, but few of us in the linux space are comfortable with it. Zeal-8-Bit-OS really changes the game for me when it comes to retro computing usability.
The packaging is amazing and shipping to the US was fast. Having soldered together several kits from Tindie sellers, it was a nice change to have this one pre-assembled, and the packaging is high enough quality that you will want to keep it for storage and travel.
The creator has excellent videos and text documentation and is available in discord chat for direct communication. He's quite an amazing individual and he's very knowledgeable and helpful, providing insights into not just his product, but the z80 ecosystem of ICs generally.
I'm a huge fan of this project. It has replaced my RC2014 and other 8 bit kits as my primary 8-bit workstation.
