What is it?

This device allows one or more users to control garage door(s) with their smartphone. (Android smartphone and/or tablet is supported).

It communicates with your phone via Bluetooth, so no account registration or internet connection is required.

It will work with all garage door models that have a classic wall push button.

Why did you make it?

I have a garage door with only one remote, and I always run into the problem of needing additional remotes for my other household members.

Yes, this can be resolved by buying additional remotes but:

• They are often expensive.
• Sometimes the remote is not available on the market because your garage door is an old unsupported model.
• From time to time you must replace the battery.
• Too many times I have forgotten to take my remote and have had to come back to get it.
• I want avoid all of these situations forever.

What makes it special?

• One EasyGarageControl module allow more users to control the garage door(s.)
• Each smartphone with the application can control the garage doors.
• No need to reprogram old remotes, or program new ones.
• Never replace the batteries.
• Easily connects to the garage door(motor) terminal/push-button.
• Configurable access PIN/NAME via smartphone.
• No account, email, internet, registration.
• Built security function for control (if one user has control, other users cannot override them until the first.
• User releases control or when it is out of range.)

Installation

• For connecting the EasyGarageControl module you need 5V DC power supply (anything about 200mA or more is enough).
• Power supply is marked as “Input 5V DC”.
• Please watch out for polarity (“+” and “-” are marked on the PCB).
• Please watch out for voltage.
• Smartphone microUSB wall charger is a good choice.
• OUT_1 connector needs to be connected to the wall push-button (if it is installed or if not, to the motor box terminal signed by push-button or similar).
• One wire from OUT_1 connector to the one side of push-button, other wire to the other side of push-button.
  The order of connection for OUT_1 does not matter.

What is OUT_2 connector?

It is the same as OUT_1 but needs to connect to the other garage door. That means you have the ability to control two garage doors with one EasyGarageControl module and the same GarageControlPro application.

Range is determined by Bluetooth Class 2, which is enough to control within a radius of about 20m, depending on the environment.

Application

User application is simple, it has:

• Status of connection/range/select Bluetooth module.
• One/two control button(s) depending of your configuration (one or two garage doors)
• Invisible button (to choose one or two buttons on screen). The invisible button is between garage icon and “EXIT” button
• “EXIT” button (to close the application and disconnect from EasyGarageControl module).

After installing EasyGarageControl module and installing the application* follow these steps:

• Open Bluetooth settings on your smartphone
• Scan for new device
• Choose GC-Module_
• Pair with default PIN (5555)
• Open GarageControlPro application
• Click on “Connect to” from the list choose GC-Module

After that, every time you open the application you will automatically connect to the chosen Bluetooth module.
No need for any additional action, just press the icon with a garage to open/close door.
*If not already set, before installing the application you must set “Allow installation of apps from unknown sources” in your smartphone.

Change PIN and NAME

If you want to change PIN and/or Bluetooth device name, you need to use application (GarageControlConfig).

You can use GarageControlConfig to:

1. Change PIN of EasyGarageControl.
2. Change NAME of EasyGarageControl.

*For both of these you must know current PIN.

For first option:

• Open GarageControlConfig.
• Click to connect.
• Enter new PIN (4 digit number.)
• Press “Send.”
• Application will automatically close and you are done.

For second option:

• Open GarageControlConfig.
• Click to connect.
• Enter new NAME (up to 7 characters.)
• Press “Send.”
• Application will automatically close and you are done.
  

If you forget PIN, you need to follow these steps:

• Disconnect EasyGarageControl from power supply.
• Put jumper on two pin marked with “DEFAULT” on PCB.
• Connect the power supply, wait 5-10 seconds.
• Disconnect power supply, remove jumper.
• Connect power supply.

This resets EasyGarageControl to the default value.

• Default Bluetooth name is “GC-Module.”
• Default PIN is “5555”.
