What is it?

Why did you make it?

Currently, I'm working on a new concept for access system and this was the first prototype in order to test ESP8266 capabilities in the real world. This version doesn't have a relay, opening doors and other cool functionalities but it can serve it's functionality perfectly well.

What makes it special?

1. It is small
2. It can accept input voltage from 4 up to 12V
3. It has all the pins to directly accept very popular and cheap Wiegand RFID readers
4. It has programming pins
5. It has flash/reset buttons so it can be used as ESP12E/ESP12F development board
6. Instead of through-hole pins for programming, it has 4 pads for (GND, 3.3V, RX, TX) and can be programmed with pogo pins easily and because it's at the corner, it's easy to make fast programming station for it.
7. It has custom pads (need to solder your option) at the bottom which lets you choose different options for ring button, commonly found on RFID readers or use it as input to a terminal from a sensor like a magnet, door open status:
8. If you want just to let the ring button from the reader to be based to a green terminal on another side
9. If you want to read ring button pressed with an ESP and do something within the MCU
10. If you want to use terminal as input to MCU and hook a door status magnet sensor there
11. In case you buy 20 or more, I'll send you BOM and the eagle cad design
12. In case you buy 200, I'll send you my custom firmware which makes the device a perfect time registration with RFID cards platform and pushes data to MQTT server or Google Sheets.
