"Every year [Hackaday] produces an incredible piece of custom electronics to serve as our conference badge and each year we hear feedback from people who cannot come to the conference but want to get their hands on one.
The 2017 Hackaday Superconference badge was conceived and designed by Mike Harrison.
Known as the Camera Badge, it includes a camera module, 128x128 color OLED display, SD card, accelerometer, PIC32 microcontroller, SRAM, white LED "flash", six buttons, plus breakout headers and a prototyping area. It is capable of taking still images and recording video at a framerate similar to animated GIF files with plenty of horsepower to playback video you encode and place on the SD card as well as run your own games and other customizations.
The hardware is specifically designed to entertain people who love custom electronics. Throughout Supercon people are hacking the badge by writing their own software, adding or altering hardware, entering a film festival with video recorded on the badge, and by solving the puzzles and crypto challenges built into the stock firmware.
Complete details on this badge can be found on the Hackaday.io project page: Camera Badge for Superconference 2017
