How it works

Daytripper comes in two parts: a Transmitter (TX) and a Receiver (RX).

Mount the TX in the path of incoming threat. Plug RX into your computer.

When motion is detected, RX will press Win + M and instantly hide what you're doing.

Alternatively, it can also lock your PC or execute a custom script.

Just What I Wanted

I am a very forgetful person. I purchased this because my concern was that while traveling I might leave my laptop open and leave, and then a maid could come in and see confidential information. Although I could set my laptop to lock if there were no activity for several minutes, sometimes I will be looking at a spreadsheet or reading something and I don't move my cursor for a while. There didn't seem to be any solution. Until I found this.

Works very well

The Daytripper works very well without any problems. The possible usage of this product goes well behind of minimizing tabs or locking your operating system.
Regarding shipping: MY shipment was checked by german customs and where forwarded to me without any hassle.

Fun IoT

It's a fun multi-use IoT sensor that, if clever enough, can be used for a wide range of things rather than just hiding your tabs. Although it does help when you are wanting to be private ;) , it is also beneficial as a security alarm or even a data tracker. Overall, build quality is superb and honestly just a fun toy to experiment with!

Top Notch - Would Recommend

Saw a cool thing on reddit. Ordered one on impulse. Shipping was a bit more than I was expecting, but it was coming from the UK. Arrived faster than I was expecting. Works great. Very cool. Would buy another thing from them. Would recommend.

Good product, but need more key combinations

This is a good product, but it need to be able to give more key combinations than it does. I would hope it could alt-tab to change window, but it needs a program installed on the computer to do this, something that is not possible if your work computer is lock to just the program that your computer department installs.

This thing is bad ass! I was hesitant about it, but it works

I was hesitant about this product, but let me tell you, it works exactly as described. I have people in and out of my office on a regular basis and the stuff on my screen is private and not something just anyone should see. The sensor works instantly, and the setup was a breeze. Far exceeds my expectations.

Works as advertised

As stated, it works as advertised, once assembled it's very simple to use, just plug in the receiver, and turn on the transmitter.

Assembly itself is simple and the instructions provided on the store page are clear and easy to follow, with pictures guiding each step. The nuts at the end of assembly can be a bit tricky to tighten without tools, however it can be done, though small pliers or having slightly longer nails will help.

On the latest version of Win10 there is effectively no setup required, just plug the receiver in. Certain applications that operate in full screen mode, such as games, will sometimes not be minimised, however this can often be fixed by setting them to borderless full screen, or windowed full screen, so as stated it's best you test that the thing you want to hide works, alternatively locking the machine works all the time.

I haven't had an issue with latency, though I haven't tested it at further distances.

Delivery did take some time, however for context this was ordered right at the beginning of UK's COVID-19 lockdown so I can't put the blame on the seller. However the package was well packaged, each component was wrapped in bubble wrap and the inside of the envelope itself was covered in bubble wrap.

The content included a note with the link to the store page in case you lost the webpage and needed to find it again (for the instructions for example) as well as a contact email which is much appreciated. Perhaps a QR code could be made in the future for easier access, however most newer phones can scan URLs in their camera app so it isn't that big of a deal.

Since everything went smoothly there wasn't a need to communicate with the seller however having the aforementioned contact details is a nice thing to have.

Love the product but requires gentleness

This is a product I was looking for and does exactly what it supposed to do. The problem I had is with the power switch. The switch is more like a dip switch which is a set it and forget it. Turning it off and on causes stress on the tiny switch and its solder points on the board. Not being super delicate, the switch fell off the board after a few months of operation. This will be my second one and I now know to be gentle with the switch.

Such a simple idea and it works

I love it for my cube at work. I have it set to lock my computer. What I really love about it is that its subtle. Instead of franticly locking your machine when someone enters your cube instead your machine just locks itself which no one appears to really notice since your hands did not appear to do anything. If I have any negative to say it's that its a lot of exposed circuitry. I'm afraid static electricity will break it.

This Device is Amazing

The device is awesome, hats off to you for creating this. I have a micromanager boss who comes into my office a lot and sometimes I have nothing to do, because I have finished my work and I want to relax. This saves my ass, the only drawback I will put on this is if you added documentation inside the packaging it would go more smoother.

Works just as I thought

This item worked perfectly it is very fast

Shipping was as i expected from Europe around 2 weeks to the U.S

A lot smaller than I thought which is a good thing and VERY easy to put together and update

%100 percent would recommend this to someone else

Very happy with this

As a product it's a fun little thing. As a FOSS reference project, it is outstanding.

As a hobbyist in electronics I found the schematics and plans to be really educational and well presented, in a GitHub repository. I bought the physical asset to reward the seller for their contribution.

Overall, very happy. 4 stars product and shipping because there was an issue with the shipping, which the seller corrected quickly, and because as a Linux user the product is a bit tricky to use effectively without hacking about in my settings (the linux way) and trying to find a way to make it do something useful.

Either way, overall very happy.

Interesting Product

So far so good. Just getting started with it.

PROS -
Documents are good, easy to follow.
Quick response from seller about shipping and willing to fix any problems without hassle.

CONS -
Shipping could be better, as tracking should be included by default, but otherwise it was great. Packaged well and arrived in a reasonable time given US customs delays.

Used as vehicle sensor, works great.

I have a smart home system based on the Insteon platform. I saw this product and thought I could use it with an iolinc sensor gateway to detect if my electric vehicle is parked in the garage - and then operate a cooling fan to make sure heat from charging is expelled. At first, I had some issues with range, but after contacting Mr. DekuNukem, he made a custom build of the firmware which increased the range and added a few checks to prevent false triggers.

The product arrived very quickly, in a well packaged envelope.

Mr. DekuNukem has gone far above and beyond for supporting this project and my unintended use. I had extremely rapid response times to my queries.

This is a great DIY sensor for smart home applications and other hobbies.

Product arrived damaged beyond belief

One of the boards appears scorched. Melted plastic, and several SMT components broke off. The unprotected envelope it was shipped with was mangled and dirty.

great "little" device

I am amazed with the quality of this "little" gadget.
I bought many things from Tindie but this one is by far the most advanced and well designed product.
Also the Seller was very professional and I felt he really care about his product and also about the customers , something which is very rare these days.

I will use this with a script to ring a bell when someone approaches my man cave from the attic .... I have many "unwanted" visitors all the time :))

Works perfectly

Works as advertised. Easily connected to AutoHotKey to perform any action - we wanted a Bluetooth speaker to start playing a specific sound when someone walks down a corridor, and the product works perfectly.
