The button configuration is SPST-NO, which means single pole, single throw, normally open. So if you use for example a 10k pullup, you can use this button to short this to GND, e.g. for the reset pin of a microcontroller, or a digital input pin of an Arduino. It is just one switch, but accessible from both sides. This is the circuit diagram:
Technical details of the button:
Name | Value |
---|---|
DC contacts rating | 0.05A / 12VDC |
Operating Force | 1.27N |
Max. contact resistance | 50mΩ |
Min. insulation resistance | 100MΩ |
When I test things on a breadboard, sometimes I need a button for reset or other things and such a mini board with a button is much better than soldering some wires to a button flapping in the breeze.
The button is easy to click, with a bigger cap than the usual mini buttons, so it doesn't pierce your finger, and the click force is low, but it has a nice click feeling. The PCB is a high quality blue soldermask PCB with ENIG (gold) finish. The button in the kit and fully assembled doesn't need the 2 holes in the PCB, but there are some buttons with extra pins, which can be used with the PCB as well. See the design files if you want to make your own boards.
