This combination selectively modifies the appearance of polarized light: reflections, pure white light, displays, etc. into a rainbow effect, leaving everything else normal with approximately 90% visible light transmission. Currently I produce 52, 58 and 77mm filters- contact for special orders.
Fine control of color saturation and presence is possible with a dreamy like palette appearance; by rotating the polarizing axis the effect intensity can be varied or disabled, by rotating the mica the coloration and palette will change. The individual filters can be used separately or reversed for other diverse effects. You can also purchase a second mica filter and either sandwich the linear polarizer- This will modify the color of ALL incoming light! or double up the mica up front for more intense modification!
Now, each sample is unique- often collected myself or rock hounds by researching old mines. ROCK HOUNDS! HIT ME UP IF YOU HAVE MICA!!! Please retain the serial number of every filter you purchase for quality control and feedback purposes! Make sure to read the option details of the filter you are ordering, there is a good deal of variation. Out of stock items are left up so you can see previous sales and variations, use the drop down menu to check inventory.
Note: Mica is a natural material literally dug out of the ground and will vary significantly in appearance and effect- it is also relatively fragile, never clean with fluids, ideally use an air puff cleaner or smooth eyeglass cloth. A UV or protective filter can be put over the mica with no significant change optically and so is recommended.

This is a part of a greater project making sunglasses with the same visual effects, trippy man! I wanted a way to share what it's like to wear the glasses and it turns out this is just as impressive and a rather versatile photography effect.
Intense colors and saturated highlights in otherwise less than exciting photos. Really draws the eye, very high impact. Also interesting just to explore your surroundings and see what responds and what does not, all sort of exciting things pop out at you. Water puddles look like oil slicks, cars driving by look like the have magpie feathers, Skyscrapers like watercolors... Mica has many other unique properties, a little research will inspire you.
Combined mica/linear polarizer assemblies come in a laser-cut box with an informational sheet. Single mica filters come in a hard plastic protective case.

Please note that housings have an unrelated manufacturing logo. For now; as of 5/16/22 I have four assemblies and 4 solo filters available. Pricing tiers start at the baseline for the 52mm filters- my margin is 1.75%
