Description

True HATs have an 24C32 EEPROM, which auto-configures the RPi GPIO ports at boot time.

The TRIAC is a solid state device, capable of switching on-off hundreds of times per second, without any wear or noise. In addition, the board has opto-isolators, providing full isolation between DC and AC stage.

Using the board

BEGINNERS: simply write 1 or 0 to the corresponding GPIO port to turn the AC channel on / off.

ADVANCED: Opto-TRIAC board has an AC phase-feedback GPIO port that feeds the phase of the alternating signal, therefore through a Kernel module driver, it is possible to control the TRIAC trigger phase, with a +/-1° accuracy. This way, it is possible to dim the output, and control both RMS and mean value.
