What is it?

This is a wearable electronic pin featuring Dr. Frankenstein's monster (I just call him Frankie, for short). The pin is powered by a CR2032 coin cell battery (not included due to shipping restrictions) and has its own microprocessor to control the LED animation sequence. There's a pin with a butterfly clasp on the back, so you can attach it to clothing, hats, backpacks, etc.

Why did you make it?

I love the classic movie monsters! I've been looking for an excuse to do something with Frankie (one of my favorites), and with Halloween just around the corner this seemed like the right time. Don't know if Halloween will even be a thing this year because, you know, 2020... but we can still get in the Halloween spirit, right?

What makes it special?

Frankie's got a fun animation sequence that shows him being powered-up via lightning (1.21 gigawatts are required, if I've got my movie history correct [editor's note: you do not]). Once awake and functioning, his brain power will slowly drain and he'll need more lightning to keep him running. But lightning is a fickle power source...

Frankie's proud of his augmented brain power. With the addition of the mighty ATTiny85 MCU to his original squishy brain, his processing power has more than tripled! Plus, the pointy legs of the ATTiny, along with some of the additional hardware, really help to hold his head together and hide that unsightly seam on his skull. Frankie is lookin' fine, and he knows it!

Remember, you'll need to supply the lightning gnenerator (conveniently, a common CR2032 coin cell battery). Slide it in gently, please, with the + side UP.
