Exactly what I needed, and my workflow is changed for good

As a nature sound recordist who works with long-form multi-day recordings, leaving recorders and microphones out for undisturbed long lengths of time is super easy... except for the power. Even with very low power microphones and efficient recorders, a single 26800 mAh USB-C powerbank will last at best 2 days. You'd think using a much larger power station would be a simple solution, but they can't be carried on an airplane. Hiking into a wilderness on a daily or bi-daily basis sounds like fun, but we could be talking about miles of bushwhacking both ways, disturbing the wildlife along the way.

Enter 8086 Consultancy's USB-C Dual supply. I bought five over the Summer, and these little guys have changed my entire workflow and outlook on recording, doubling the time I can leave stashed recorders, allowing environments ecosystems to recover from my interference and return to a natural behavior not possible to record with shorter recording times.

The only "downside" I find with these devices is that they are bare board (as one would expect from a builder's market), and not really suitable for extreme outdoor temperatures and humid/ dry swings. At $5 each, I'm not complaining, though! I "solved" this by encasing them in hot glue. Okay, I'm not very crafty, but it works (click links for pictures). They've sat in cold puddles (a "dry" bag had a leak), been subjected to below-freezing nights and extreme hot days and direct sun without issue.

Superb

Works perfect. I keep one connected to each pi. If I need to move it, or expect power issues, I plug a battery in the other side.

Redundant Power feed for a Raspberry PI 4!

This product with 2x Official Raspberry Pi 15W USB-C Power Supplies and a *HIGH QUALITY* usb-c to usb-c cables is great way to supply a Raspberry Pi 4 or Compute Module (CM4) with redundant power feeds.

Note about the *HIGH QUALITY* usb-c cable: I initially used any old usb-c cable I had lying around, I kept getting under-voltage errors, swapping out the usb-c cable for a better quality cable fixed the issues.

Just perfect.

First of all, the adapter was delivered very well packaged, each in their own small clip bag, combined in an air bubble envelope.
The delivery time was faster than expected.

The product looks very well made, very clean soldering points and works like charm.

The price is very fair for such a unique solution, where i was not able to find anything comparable.
I even would have ordered more than 3, just to have some spares, but i was unsure due to the import bureaucracy due to the brexit.

Now all i would need, would be a STL file to 3D Print a nice case. The inclusion of such a file, in form of a link, would be the only thing that could improve the experience.

All in all i have nothing to criticize and just want to say thank you for that amazing product! :)
