What is it?

This is a very small (the size of a common credit card) MIDI controller, capable of controlling level, pan, modulation wheel and arbitrary control change in all MIDI channels via MIDI 5-pin DIN-5 connector. It is powered by USB-C and includes an easily accessible ICSP port, so updating a new firmware or hacking your own custom firmware is an easy task as long as you have a $3 Arduino board or any ISP capable board.

Why did you make it?

My main goal was to have a simple solution to easily control multiple parameters in an Empress' ZOIA patch via control change, but I also added other parameters and functionality to be suited for using along with any MIDI capable piece of gear or computer.

What makes it special?

There are not many general purpose MIDI controllers that output raw MIDI via DIN-5, modern gear has favored MIDI-USB, and with a couple exceptions, the controllers including old-fashioned MIDI OUT port are either way too big or way too expensive or way too old, thus, this one is both small and affordable.

A Ready to use, PCB, with everything soldered.
The latest stable firmware installed. Future firmwares or your own mods can be easily installed using an Arduino board and some cables. The process is further explained in the Github page of the project, down below.

really great device and helpful developer

I wanted to have a small device to have quick and easy access to all the MIDI CC´s of the Korg NTS-1.
had some very friendly email contact with sensai ,
he offered to modify the firmware to my needs and all I can say is:
PERFECT - works immediately out of the box !
With this tiny thing it is a joy to play the little korgie .
what is more to mention ?
Very fast delivery,
I ordered the assembled device with TRS jack,
it has the rock solid USB type B connection,
Exacty what I need and highly recommended,
the firmware code is straightforward and easy to understand,
it should be very easy to modify for any MIDI CC usecase,
you have full and easy access to 36 parameters.

Excellent!

After quick and helpful email exchange with sensai, I chose the fully assembled version with plastic potentiometers, and my expectations have been exceeded. The pots move smoothly, have a quality feel and offer good grip. Component placement and soldering is flawless. Shipping was fast as well, and I have no doubts that this little unit will do its job reliably for years to come. Customization of the code seems straightforward. Highly recommended!

Neat little MIDI controller with great potential to evolve!

The build is solid, I chose DIN and metal pots, and I love the form factor!

If you have coding experience it is quite easy to modify the code to be a 6x6 CC controller.

I have been in contact with the developer and suggested some features, my experience is that "Sensai" is very responsive and open for suggestions :-)

I warmly recommend this little MID gear!
