Problem

If you're like me, you have a chair that charges you up when you stand up. Or maybe a rug that crackles when you walk on it. Or maybe you just like to shut the blinds and rub yourself all over with balloons. Whatever the cause, you probably live in fear that the next metal thing you touch is going to zap you.

Solution

It doesn't have to be this way. Don't fear the doorknob. Install the static discharge button by attaching the ring terminal to a source of earth (for example, by bolting it to a PC case) and placing the box on your desk or another surface, non-slip side down. When you feel your hair standing on end, simply touch the button to discharge yourself. If the button has protected you from a strong zap, the light will flash.
