What is it?

Affine is a 4HP utility module for amplifying, attenuating, inverting, and offsetting a CV signal. Think of it like f(x) = ±a*x + b, where 0 < a < 2 and -12 < b < 12. The scale knob controls the level of the input from 0 to 2x. The invert switch inverts the input. The offset knob adds an offset from -12V to +12V. That's about it.

The cool part is the LED display that shows the output level. As the voltage rises above 0, the LEDs in the top half gradually turn on. Same for the bottom half. It isn't calibrated or anything, but it can give you an idea of what is being output.

I wanted a few for myself.

What makes it special?

The unique LED display straddles the line between analog and digital. Each LED turns on gradually, so you get more nuance than a normal LED bar graph.

Good utility module. It does what it does well.

Well done little utility. It really just does what it says, scales, offsets and inverts in 4HP with the sweet blue LED bar to let you know (approx.) what you are doing. If this ever becomes a production module, being able to calibrate the midpoint of the offset Pot and the zero line on the display would be nice. (maybe I've just missed that) It was a pretty simple build - the trickiest part were the resistors and diodes that are mounted on their ends on the front board - if that's my biggest problem today, it will be a good day!!
The seller was very open and focused on the customer. He had a supply issue with the rectangular LEDs and offered me several options to make things right! Bravo!
