What does it do? Use a magnet and real Core Memory to control LEDs!

This kit is made from a layer of core memory placed on top of an LED Matrix. It enables you to use a magnet to draw in core memory and see the effect in real-time! This is #InteractiveCoreMemory and the opportunity to weave and learn how to use core memory down to the transistor level if you want. Batteries included!

If you are captivated by core memory and want to learn how to weave your own core plane, this is the kit for you. A wide range of experimentation is unlocked with this kit - you can think of it as a Dev Kit for Core Memory!

With this kit YOU get to weave your very own 64 bits of core memory. You can use it as is or modify the Arduino-compatible firmware, and hack the logic board. The baseline features of the kit include:

• 64 bits of authentic core memory (new, old stock)
• 64 RGB LED pixels
• Four Hall effect sensor soft buttons at bottom of the core board labeled "M - + S"
• A powerful Teensy 3.2 or Raspi Pico Arduino compatible micro-controller
• 4x "AAA" batteries and battery holder
• QWIIC socket for I2C compatible expansion
• SAO header for I2C + 2 GPIO expansion
• An ambient light sensor (in the top left of the core board)
• Magnetic Wand Styluses (qty 2)

The basic configuration is a Core Memory Layer on top of an LED Matrix Layer, with a logic board (two size options) at the bottom. The functionality between the two size logic boards is effectively the same.

You can add a variety of readily available hardware accessories such as:

• Swap out the "AAA" battery pack for a 1S LiPo and USB charge manager.
• SD Card Breakout board
• LCD 3.2"
• OLED monochrome
• OLED color
• QWIIC compatible accessories
