I always loved these tiny displays and wanted to make "my" version clock with them

What makes it special?

12 or 24 hour time display
Selectable DST (Daylight Saving Time) setting
Build in RTC chip with backup battery
Build in 200mA Lipo battery
4 red LED's for alarm and hourly alert notification
USB type C connector with direct USB connection to PC to upload or change the code
Build in speaker to play tones and melodies, 5 included melodies to choose from
Loop or manual display of different screens
Hourly alarm with melody or tone notification

Great idea and craftsmanship, neat example of DL1414 use

Absolute blast to use and great communication with developer. Looking forward for next great use of DL1414, DL2416 and DL3416 -> go retro :)

Nice little clock

Well made compact little clock.

Due to the led display and the small battery it only runs for handful of hours before needing a recharge.
Because of this I leave it plugged in but this means that the bright recharging led turns on. I've placed a tiny bit of tape on the front to cover this led up as it shines quite brightly in the dark.

How about adding a countdown function including a tenths of a second display for that Hollywood Clock of Doom effect.

Should really use a larger resistor to dim down the charging LED, piece of black tape helps as well of course.

The code got a bit on the large side and with all the different alarm functions. I initially thought about a timer as well.

But, I am working on a Kitchen timer based on the wonderful Nixie tubes, maybe it will be something of interest to you. As the code is still in the works, I am open to suggestions and ideas :-) and if you end up ordering it, just remind me and I make the charging LED dimmer, could even replace it by a IR Led, for the stealth look.

Great miniature retro clock!

Cool little retro clock with RTC and battery. I leave mine plugged in to power via a standard USB C port. No need to worry about having to set the time after a power cut. Features alarms, ambient temperature, battery status and more. Best feature however is the look. Looks awesome! Good job. Get one!
