Angry Robot: Recursive Bytebeat Synthesis

Angry Robot is a new firmware for the Glitch Storm MK2. It expands on the concept of bytebeats with a whole new buch of technics that reach new sounds altogether, ranging form drones, to rhythms, polyrhythms, robot bablings, malfunctions and all kind of gliches that remind of primitive game consoles but somehow sounding totally new and futuristic.

Angry robot at the moment is closed source and you can get it as an arduino preprogramed microcontroller, to expand your previous Glitch Storm MK2 hardware or with a brand new Glitch Storm MK2.

How to manage the instrument:

Pot A, B and C control a tridimensional position on the programs, like Glitch Storm did.

The rate knob alters the pitch in different ways. Sometimes higher will rise the pitch, in other cases will lower it and most of the times will mangle it and also change the ridms, times polyridms and what not. It will behave different in every program and be also affected by the modes engaged.

Left Button cycles throught the 16 programs. The leds shows in binary the program number. And from here, mostly everything changes respect Glitch Storm.

Right Button cycles thru 4 different algorithm. Every algorithm modifies the way the programs are processed. When you release the long press of the right button you engage the next algorithm and the leds flash 5 times to indicate in which algo are you using.

Long press of Left Button toggles on/off Angry Robot mode. When engaged it starts auto cycling between the 4 algos per step

Long press of Right Button engages looper mode. When in looper mode, a second light in the arduino will light. Long pressing again the Right Button toggles looper mode on/off

And finally theres the Recursive Mode. It cycles thru the 16 programs. To engage it you long press both left and right buttons, and the release first left and then right button. The leds will start counting in binary signaling that the mode is on. To toggle off just do the same. Both long press buttons releasing the left one first

All modes are recombinable, the 16 programs, the looper mode, the Angry Robot and the Recursive modes, so the amount of possible combinations is pretty much infinite.
