What is it?

TO-THE-MOON rocket based on the rocket emoji! Behind the rocket engine are four reverse mounted LED's that can flash in different patterns. A push button is used to turn the pin on and off, and to change to the different patterns. ATtiny412 is used to control the patterns of the LED's. Powered by a 1225 coin cell battery.

Why did you make it?

Since the rocket is a very popular emoji I decided it would be fun to have this as a pair of earrings. And since I never used red soldermask before this was an other good reason to try it out.

What makes it special?

The animated rocket engine actually turned out very well. The ATtiny412 is a perfect fit to control the LED's with a PWM output using only the RTC (Real Time Counter) and TCB0 in single shot mode. The push button can be used to cycle through the following patterns:

• LAUNCH, same flashing pattern of LED's, but changing intensity of the brightness
• THRUSTING, different flashing pattern of LED's and changing intensity of the brightness
• BURNOUT, theater style flashing of the 4 LED's
• COASTING, different flashing pattern of LED's and changing intensity of the brightness and randomly turning off the LED's to conserve energy.
