The Kit

This kit includes all the components needed to make the card, as shown in the first picture. Other cards and backplanes shown in the other pictures are not included. You will require tools, solder, and cleaning materials to assemble this kit.

You will need to source a suitable CompactFlash card. Older, relatively low-capacity (up to 2GB) cards are usually the best choice. Some cards may not work with this simple 8-bit IDE interface, especially more modern, high-capacity, high-speed cards.

Well documented, well designed, and easy to use!

Another fun build. I like soldering on the battery holder near the end, it's quite enjoyable. Works reliably and easy to build. Another excellent design. The cutout to allow for access to the IDE breakout module is clever, an improvement over previous revisions. The use of box pins was also inspired, ensuring a good connection. Be sure to check the documentation as there is a small modification that needs to be made. It is simple and well documented, though.

Makes an otherwise complicated assembly easy

This kit was well-packaged and complete. It includes the CompactFlash holder daughtercard.

It all went together very nicely, although it was a bit of a pain to have to remove the key on the CompactFlash connector. I ended up stabbing my finger with my Xacto knife.

But it's a nice slick little kit that takes the physical complexity out of dealing with the CF module. The address jumpers are nicely placed and offer nice flexiblity. And he makes a lot of nice software available online for getting going with the card.
