What is it?

A 7 segment display (red) with backpack that are chainable and the chain can be controlled using only 4 wires (vcc, gnd, clock and data).

Why did you make it?

I made this because I wanted to drive 7 segment displays just as easy as wiring "Neopixels" or the famous max7219 led matrix modules.

What makes it special?

It is really easy to add 7 segment displays to your project. And with any number of digits, whether you need to only display "0" to "9" or you need to display "0" to "999", it is just as simple to wire and program. It has current limiting of 150 ohms for the segments, so it is still bright at 3 volts, while it can still handle 5 volts. The PCBs are manufactured by Aisler germany and hand soldered by me.
