The JC Pi Protec Raspberry Pi 4 enclosure is a slim Raspberry Pi case made out of PCB material. It has accommodations on the top plate for a small fan (30mm works well, but other sizes may fit) and a heat sink can fit as well, along with convenient GPIO labeling. Two top designs are available, one with a smooth top, and other that provides a small 2.54mm prototyping area. Top and bottom are attached with standoffs, and the bottom can be used with rubber pads, or via 3.5mm and 5mm mounting holes, and DIN rail adapters are available.

A Raspberry Pi 4 is not included. The base will work with a Pi 3 as well, though the top will not fit properly (could likely be used with longer standoffs)

Why did you make it?

Seemed like a cool idea to make such an item with a PCB.

What makes it special?

The fan arrangement is unique as far as I know in its flexibility, and the prototyping area will be helpful in some situations. All ports are easily accessible with the exception of the PoE pins.

What is really helpful about the enclosure, however, is that the GPIO pins are labeled. No longer do you have to refer back to a paper or website, the pin labeling is just there on the other side of the fan.

I think it's pretty cool.

-Device includes one, both, or no top boards depending on option chosen, as well as a bottom board.

-Hardware kit includes rubber feet, and 2.5mm screws and spacers to put it together on your Pi. [7/16/2022] Also includes metal 2.5mm x 10mm lg screw that can be used with a standard 30mm fan above the processor to keep it from hitting.

-A fan can be added on as an option.
