Q: What Features does it have?
Q: How far can it detect motion? Up to 5m (15ft) and 120deg FOV.
Q: How is the battery consumption? While using Wifi it uses about 80mAH. Without Wifi it uses about 26mAh.
While in deep sleep it uses only 45uA!! this is mostly from the PIR sensor itself.
Q: OK, but how long will the battery last? This is a good question, but one that is hard to answer because it is highly dependent on a number of factors. Mainly how often it triggers and wakes up and if you're using WiFi or not and how strong your WiFi signal is to the Bee Motion. the weaker the signal the longer it may take to connect and transfer data. But with all that said, here is an example for the sake of an example.
If paired with a 1500mAH LiPo battery and triggering 20 times a day using deep sleep, it would last for well over a year!
Q: What comes in the Packaging?
Q: Why does the JST connector not come soldered on the board?
With the JST connector on the back of the board it will interfere if you try to place it in a breadboard. With it off, it allows you to prototype with a breadboard and then once you're ready to use it with a battery you can solder the JST connector on yourself.
Disclaimer! Only use lipo batteries that have a built in over/under voltage protection circuit in them. And check that the LiPos connector has the correct polarity before use.
Q: What features does it not have? - The ESP-S2 does not have Bluetooth capability.
Q: Do you have schematics, 3D model and 3D printed Case STLs??? - YES! you can find all of those things and more on our GitHub
Q: Do you have a discord? - YES! please join in and ask any questions you may have or just hang out with the community- DISCORD
Q: Does it support ESPhome? -Not out of the box, no. You can get ESPhome to work if you jump the signal pin on the PIR sensor to pin 4 on the board however.
