This product is 2nd generation of the microscope adapter, which is now phased out.

Microscope Macro Set for Sony, Canon, and Nikon

Improvements over the previous version include:

• All-metal casing. The patented stray light suppression technology (US patent 10,788,663) is still 3D printed using matte PLA. However, it is now used as sleeve segments placed inside the metal casing and not subject to any mechanical load.
• Modular design. Adapters for all cameras are made of the same building blocks, which include (i) 20mm segment, (ii) 30mm segment, (iii) RMS lens adapter, and (iv) camera adapter. (v) Thread Adapter except C-MOUNT. Some cameras require five segments, while others require four - see details below.
• Option to add 2nd camera adapter. Use the same tube for different cameras by replacing the camera adapter only. Requires a sufficient number of segments.
• Optional microscope objective is provided as an add-on.
• Optional Musou Black inner surface painting for better HDR performance.

Configuration

Three adapter lengths are offered:

1. For Sony E-Mount and Canon EOS EF-M : four 30mm segments, one RMS adapter, one thread adapter, and one camera adapter (7 parts).

2. For Nikon F-Mount, Pentax K-Mount and Canon EF/EF-S : three 30mm segments, one RMS adapter, one thread adapter and one camera adapter (6 parts).

3. For C/CS mount : three 30mm segments, two 20mm segment, one RMS adapter, one 5mm spacer ring for CS mount and one camera adapter (8 parts)

Musou Black Option

Painting with Musou Black (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sDGSgcSZJA) - the blackest paint commercially available today, offered as an option for demanding HDR applications. It is usually not needed. Its cost is primarily due to being time-consuming (each segment is painted using an airbrush with a primer and 2-3 layers of Musou Black)

Pinhole lens

There is now an option to add pinhole lens that has RMS threading and can be used instead of the microscope objective lens to capture pinhole images for education and artistic use. Please see description in this page: Pinhole Lens

Only the PLA/brass lens is needed, however the focal lengths will be different because the lens segments have different lengths

Notes:

• To adjust magnification, add or remove segments.
• This is a microscope with a very narrow depth of field. Use of macro focusing rail is highly recommended.
• Use finite conjugate DIN objectives, preferably PLAN type. Infinity corrected objectives require an expensive tube lens to create an image and will not work without it, and achromatic (non PLAN) may not focus over the entire field of view.
• For full-frame cameras, image circle may not fill the entire sensor area. Images shown were captured using a Sony APS-C sensor.
• Camera and tripod are not included. Additional camera adapters, Musou Black painting, and a 4x/0.1 Plan objective are optional.
• Inner sleeves are made of PLA, Do not expose to temperatures > 80C (176F).
