The offered product is an adapter for converting 4 mm banana plugs (from e.g. laboratory power supplies) into a USB-A socket. Furthermore, a device or resistors for setting (negotiating) the maximum charging current can be connected to the jumper socket. The data lines can be connected and disconnected via a switch.

By using a lab power supply to power USB devices, the advantages of this can be used and thus devices can be tested.

Depending on the lab bench power supply:

• the voltage and current can be set/measured,
• connected devices can be tested in overvoltage and undervoltage situations,
• the current and voltage limitation of the power supply can be used for protection.

This adapter board is intended for testing USB-powered electronic projects only. If used improperly, it may cause damage to connected USB devices. The standard voltage range of USB is between 4.75 V and 5.25 V, exceeding this range may cause irreparable damage to the connected device.
