Read More…This board is designed to fit within the case of the Ikea Vindriktning and
replicate its functionality while replacing the main MCU with and ESP8266 for
home automation use. It also adds multiple i2c headers for adding other air
quality sensors.
The kit contains the following items:
- Wemos D1 Mini
- 8x 0805 0.1uf Capacitors
- 1x 0805 10k resistor
- 1x Pasive Buzzer
- 1x MMBT2222 Transistor
- 3x WS2812b LEDs
- 1x USB Type C Port
Note that you'll have to provide your own Vindriktning and harvest several parts from the stock PCB. There is a full parts list with links on the github page.
This is an advanced soldering project that requires some experience. You need a decent iron at minimum and the ability to to SMD soldering. A hot air station and hotplate are recommended, there are good options for these available on amazon for less than $20.
