You can use this 3D printed part to replace your VanMoof S3 or X3's Kick Lock cap. It's possible for the cap to come off after a lot of riding (as mine did) so you can use one of these as a replacement while you wait for VanMoof to send another one. Or you can replace the stock one to give your bike a little flair — especially with one of the available color options.

Installation

The installation process is fairly straightforward, however you may want to note the following:

• Be careful when threading the cap on to the bolt. Make sure it remains straight-on during the entire process.
• Since you are threading a plastic part onto a metal bolt, it's possible to mess up the cap's threads. (This is why they come in a 3-pack, to give you a second and third chance 😅)

Now that you have been sufficiently noted:

1. Disable your bike's alarm in the app
2. Place the bike upside-down (you can keep both wheels on)
3. Engage the Kick Lock in
4. Rotate the rear wheel until it can't be rotated anymore, and hold it there
5. Screw the cap in by hand
6. Use a 1.5mm hex wrench or similar tool to tighten using the small hole on the edge
