Introducing the Miniature 0.32" OLED Screen + Rotary Encoder Combo Breakout board!

This breakout board combines the World's Smallest 0.32" OLED 60x32 Display Screen with a Mini Rotary Encoder w/ Push Button, providing a compact solution for adding a mini user interface to any project.

The OLED display offers crisp, clear visuals for displaying text, symbols, or simple graphics, making it ideal for real-time feedback.

The rotary encoder facilitates smooth navigation and input. An added functionality is that pressing down on the rotary encoder transforms it into a button, allowing for the selection of menu items and more, enhancing its utility and interactivity.

Designed for flexibility, the board is breadboard-friendly and yet can also be integrated into finished products. It measures only 2.3cm x 1.2cm, making it ideal for small, compact projects.

The board has the following pinouts:

• SDA: I2C Data for OLED
• SCL: I2C Clock for OLED
• GND
• 3V3
• RES: Reset Line for OLED
• BTN: Button Input for Rotary Encoder
• A: A Input for Rotary Encoder
• B: B Input for Rotary Encoder

The OLED uses the I2C interface and can be used with open source libraries such as: U8g2_Arduino

When using the above library, be sure to use the following constructor:

For the Rotary Encoder, A and B are the outputs of the 2-bit gray code of the encoder, while BTN is the output of the momentary push button mechanism. You can connect A, B and BTN to any digital input pins of a microcontroller and use open source libraries such as: Rotary Encoder Arduino Library

The rotary encoder, with its intuitive navigation capability, allows the user to scroll through different data points or error logs captured by the Arduino. Pressing down on the rotary encoder to act as a button brings an added layer of interaction—this could be used to toggle between different debugging modes or to select specific functions to inspect more closely. For instance, you could program the button press to freeze the display on a particular value of interest, enabling you to examine fluctuating data without missing critical changes. Alternatively, it could trigger the display of the next set of data, cycle through various sensor readings, or even reset the state of the Arduino during iterative testing.
