ElkSD-Plus1 - SD Card Interface & 48K RAM Expansion for the Acorn Electron

The ElkSD-Plus1 is a cartridge that enables the Acorn Electron with Acorn Plus 1 expansion to load and run disk images from a standard SD memory card. It is the first and only dedicated SD interface cartridge available for the Electron, with features that include:

• Uses normal FAT32 formatted SD cards up to 8GB (*)
• Inserts into a cartridge slot on the Acorn Plus 1 expansion unit
• Contains 16K of sideways RAM, expanding your Electron to a total of 48K of RAM
• Enhanced compatibility, works with almost all Electron games including those that require PAGE = $E00
• Runs the sideways RAM version of the popular MMFS filesystem software
• Uses standard .SSD disk image files. Most Election games can be found in this format
• A curated selection of games is available for download; be playing those Electron classics in just a few minutes
• High performance: games load in just a few seconds
• LOAD and SAVE your own programs to SD card
• 3D printed protective case

An SD card is not included with the device. Your Electron MUST have a Plus 1 expansion connected in order to use this device. If you do not have a Plus 1, please take a look at the ElkSD64.

(*) Many SD cards up to 64GB have been tested and found to work provided they are formatted as FAT32 and partitioned to les than 8GB, but this is not guaranteed. Use of 1-8GB capacity cards from a reputable brand (SanDisk, Kingston, Samsung, Kioxia, etc) is recommended.
