What number comes after 4004? Retroshield 8008. Time to experience the world's first 8bit processor.

• A used 8008 chip included (read below)
• Intellec 8/Mod 8 Monitor by Intel, Version 3.0, 14 April 1975
• Teensy adapter kit required and included in the kit. (Sorry you need to buy the Teensy4.1 module here).
• heatsink for 8008 (while supplies last)

Read carefully: I was happy to find a batch of 8008 chips at reasonable cost but they are HEAVILY and VERY WELL USED :) Lots of scratches and small chips in the package corners (it is ceramic package). See pictures. Seller helped me pick the best ones. Still, these are the worst chips I have seen in my life. I was ok with that because it gives me a chance to play w/ 8008. Please please review the pictures and if you prefer to have a clean 8008, then you can get the pcb only option and buy a brand-new 8008 chip.

Other hardware platforms of interest but not implemented:

• Jim Loos's SBC 8008 with his awesome monitor (Copyright 2022 Jim Loos, using soft-uart emulation, open source, will try to get it done so we keep his work alive)
• SCELBAL is another historical software to try. I could not reach the author in time and therefore can not release emulation due to the non-commerical license. You'll have to make that work yourself.

What do you get?

• Asembled and tested
• Kit including the 8008 processor (you solder through-hole parts)
• PCB only (SMT parts already soldered for you)

What makes it special?

You can "breadboard in software" meaning you can design, change, update your hardware platform as easily as modifying the source code and recompiling code.
