It features load balancing so that it won't pull energy from the battery while charging, and most importantly, USB type C.
Note the only reason why this exists is because there was a lack of USB C solutions that weren't bulky or annoying. This was designed in mind for those who want to add USB C to their projects, without having to design a whole circuit board around it, or without having to include a bulky USB c breakout board.
