This product lets you use a microphone that is easy to wire up but know that you do not have to worry about water destroying the microphone.

The microphone on the board is protected by a silicone membrane, with an air cavity behind the membrane. The air cavity allows sound to travel from the outside of the membrane to the microphone with limited loss in the sound quality. The entire board is also potted into a 3D printed housing, with the standard 6 pin header exposed to connect to.
