What is it?

This is an active driver board for controlling analog VU meters used as indicators for the output signal level of power audio amplifiers.

Why did you make it?

I love audio equipment. I am fascinated with the old looking amplifier, cassette recorders, mixers with embedded analog audio signal level indicators. I am staring to design my own power amplifier and want to mount on its front panel such devices. To drive these I have designed a special active driver board.

What makes it special?

This a small board ( 60mm x 30mm) for driving both channel's VU meters. It can be supplied with 8-25V voltage DC source. The sensitivity (0 dB level) can be adjusted by the use of two precise potentiometers. The input signal voltage should be kept inside the limits of the supply voltage.
