Overview

This DMX / RDM Shield with a 2.5kV Isolated driver circuit and ESD protection on the D+ and D- pins. It allows you to connect your Arduino driven artwork into DMX512 networks. The shield is populated with high quality NEUTRIK XLR 3pin Connectors (1x male and 1x female) The shield can be used as DMX Master, Slave and as RDM transponder A unique RDM device id will be handed out from out range to you as well, this will make your device worldwide unique.

• Fully 2.5kV Isolated shield (2500 Vrms for 1 minute)
• ESD Protection on XLR data pins
• Populated with 3PIN NEUTRIK XLR Sockets (5 pin version is also available )
• Restrains EMI and eliminates ground loops
• Data rate up to 1Mbps (in case for other usage than DMX)
• Low power consumption
• Industrial operating temperatures (-40 to +85˚C)
• Available with 3-pin XLR or 5-pin XLR
• Circuit can be fully enabled or disabled via IO, this allows you to disable the shield and use the USART for other purposes
• Read/Write enable selectable via PIN 2 or set to read via jumper in case of DMX Slave configuration.
• Pad for termination resistor is present and can be populated if desired.

Software

The shield comes standard in a 3pin NEUTRIK XLR version, 5 pin versions are only assembled on request, contact us for pricing and delivery times and or any other additional requests or services.

The library comes with few examples showing how to create a DMX Master or DMX Slave project... The Remote Device Management part of the library will be released soon as well.
