This is the JR EasyUSB mini. This module is a breakout board for the FT230X from FTDIChip. The chip is capable of serial transmission of data at rates up to 3MBaud. The board is fitted with Power, TX and RX LEDs and can be used to power external logic. This module is similar to the JR EasyUSB micro. The only difference is that this module has a USB mini-B connector.
Why did you make it?
This module was made to provide a cheap and simple solution to adding USB connectivity to projects. The pin header uses standard 2.54mm spacing so the board is easily plugged in to breadboards for prototyping.
What makes it special?
This is a small, inexpensive and easy to use module which can easily upgrade projects to include USB connectivity. With the chip being from FTDIChip, there are vast amounts of example code online for all different operating systems. Best of all, the price!!!
