Reworked Bivert module in a small form factor and easy to solder. You can choose between the two available module types (DMG and Pocket) designed to fit perfectly on the Game Boy PCB without any wire.

Board type: Hard fiberglass FR-4 and ENIG finish

Flexible Module

Board type: Flexible polyimide (like Kapton) and ENIG finish

So tiny!

It works perfectly and it is so tiny you will have a hard time installing it. Creator is a busy guy and might not ship it super fast but its OK

Essential for Gameboy Pocket

I had previously purchased a backlight kit and was not super happy about the screen contrast after installing it. I also thought I missed the boat when I heard the original viceroy modules were sold out. The new flex nicety module works amazingly well and has made the pocket much better. The cable is really small so I wouldn’t try this without a good amount of experience soldering. It’s not the cables fault, the area is just tight. I’d recommend using flux and pre soldering the pin legs and cable contact points. J shipped the items very quickly, 1 week to US. I would get these while you can.

A Streamlined Solution

The new and improved flex ribbon version is wonderful. It feels really exact and there's no doubt on if you made a solid connection. To me this seemed like an easier install when compared to previous design which felt a little tricky when soldering to the capacitor. Shipping was honestly amazing, even though I live in another country it was very timely.
The developer has done an amazing job on improving what was already a pretty great design, and I'm thrilled they are still developing and creating new things!

Great!

More difficult to handle (it's smaller and thinner), but easier to solder than a normal Bivert module. Since it is quite flexible it allows you to press a bit so the solder runs through easily.

I highly recommend to pre-tin the module and then just align it with some capton tape. You only need to do slight presure on the pads to make an effective solder.

The performance is just great, works as expected.

Hats off to J. Rodrigo for desingning this.

bad experience

Good quality product and excellent shipping.

Easy to solder, small and doing its job. There is no other mod like this (and cheap if you buy from Spain).

GBP bivert issue - solved!

I fitted the bivert module to my already backlit gameboy pocket. However the contrast was poor and could not be properly dialed in.

I researched it and found that due to the device being powered by 3v, it has a 5v step-up regulator. This regulator is only intended to power the motherboard and screen but when you add the backlight, it is not sufficient. When the device is biverted, it highlights the issue further.

The solution is to buy and fit a second generic 5v step-up regulator as detailed in this guide:

The original regulator will just power the backlight and the new regulator will power the rest.
