It creates interesting sounds depending on how light is applied to the LDR (Light Dependant Resistor). The frequency is determined by the resistance of the LDR, the sound is outputted via the Piezo and the power is supplied by the 9-volt battery connector.
This kit is aimed at people new or experienced with electronics who are curious about SMD (Surface Mount Devices) soldering. MicroSynth is a great first SMD project for hobbyists, educators and students. The kit comes with extensive instructions on assembly and SMD soldering in general.
