What is SDR?

Software-defined radio (SDR) is a radio communication system where components that have been traditionally implemented in hardware (e.g. mixers, filters, amplifiers, modulators/demodulators, detectors, etc.) are instead implemented by means of software on a personal computer.

By Utilizing a dvb-t based dongle such as the RTL8232U + RT820T2 or similar, and with SDRSHAPE software you can tune to almost any range of frequencies from 10Khz to 1.7Ghz provided the required antenna is connected !.

The board on Sale here will enhance the reception by covering the 10khz - 50Mhz range using the up-converter and the dongle by covering from 25 - 1.7ghz.

Why did you make it?

Most DVB-T Dongles have a tuner chip and start their tuning around 22Mhz. with the help of the up converter, one can extend the range to cover the 10khz - 50Mhz range.

Integrated both RX- ranges on one board and provided easy connection.
