OPI safeguards your personal information and makes it accessible to you in the same time.

We have taken the open source golden nuggets and packaged them in a mini server within a beautifully designed small form factor casing.

In this small box we run a complete Linux system derived from Ubuntu 14.04, the NGINX webserver, email servers, and on top of this we use Roundcube and Owncloud to make information accessible to you in an as easy way as possible. Want ssh and root access? That is available to!

We store all user information on an encrypted SD card which has to be unlocked upon boot. This means that information is secure even if your OPI gets stolen or otherwise get in the wrong hands. To even further enhance security we store user credentials in an encrypted password store.

To top it off we have added an easy to use web based administration interface, automatic daily updates to keep the system up to date and an optionally enabled daily secure encrypted remote backup. If you don't want to get your hands dirty you don't have to. OPI is easy to deploy with the possibility to tinker.

And the possibly best part of it all? Every single piece of software running on OPI is open source!

How do you use OPI?

Place OPI in a location where you have control over it, presumably your home. OPI is then connected to the Internet and you can use it to store your personal information and access it from all over the world.

OPI is a multi user platform and will handle different user accounts that can share information with each other, such as calendars, files and photos.

OPI will let you sync a number of things across your different devices such as:

• Calendars. Create private and shared calendars to help keep you and your family updated on what is going on.
• Email. OPI can retrieve email from many external accounts and keep them on one location, giving you access to this either using your standard mail application on your smart phone or computer, or by accessing it through the built in web mail client.
• Contacts. Keep your contacts up to date on both your smart phone and your computer and have the same information available everywhere. Even if you loose your phone, you will not loose your address book.
• Files and photos. Take a photo with your smart phone and it is immediately uploaded to your OPI where you can share it with others or just making sure that you have it even if you loose your phone. Access files and documents as easily as on Dropbox on all your different devices.
• Everything on OPI is encrypted. Without your password, no one will have access to your information, even if they gain physical access to the device.

How do I access my information?

We provide a free dynamic DNS service with OPI. Register your personal OPI-name and access OPI over the internet wherever you are:

• Using any modern web browser. The built in web interface serves all information over a securely encrypted connection.
• Using the provided Android applications available on Google Play (We use preconfigured standard apps K9, DavDroid and Owncloud)
• Using IOS devices. OPI speaks most IOS protocols natively and it is just a matter of setting it up.
• Using regular desktop applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, Evolution and more. OPI is accessible using IMAP, SMTP, CalDav and CardDav.
