Normally you need 10 MIDI channels to control every instrument of the KORG Volca Sample. This cable has a built-in microprocessor which translates the incoming MIDI data from just one MIDI channel and splits it to the 10 needed channels on the KORG Volca Sample.

So instead of clogging up 10 MIDI channels in your setup, with this cable you need just one MIDI channel to trigger all samples!

This means you can just play every Volca Sample instrument channel from a single keyboard (with e.g. velocity to volume mapping)

It also has the ability to change velocity, modulation and pitch-bend data to the KORG Volca Sample's parameters or change keyboard octave mapping. You could play 5 Volca Samples from a From a single 5-octave keyboard.

The cable is MIDI-powered so make sure you have equipment which has the MIDI -ground pin connected, otherwise you need a powered thru box.
