ATmega1284-P-PU breakout board for trying out the larger ATmega 40 pin DIP chips. This is bare bones, a few components, DIP socket and the AT1284P-PU bootloaded chip. This makes for very quick build time. Can easily be used with the standard Arduino IDE and subsequent chips bootloaded from another Arduino using the 6 pin header. USB connection can be made via an FTDI lead to the six pin header on the board (kit option), or if you are feeling brave you can buy the kit with the surface mount ftdi chip, polyfuse and usb connector (kit option). Note the usb supply is protected by a 500mA polyfuse for protection. LEDS on the board are power tx and rx, although tx and rx leds if fitted will need a very small board change. Board size is 125mm x 48mm, with 4 corner fixing holes at 3.1mm. The board is lead free through hole plated, red solder mask, hot air levelled and the majority of pins brought out to the pcb screw terminals. All components are RoHS. There is no regulated supply on board, so you can rely on the USB power or there are VCC and Ground terminals for you to connect your supply to. The beauty of these chips is that they have 2 UART serial connections so communictaion to and from various devices becomes easier. Very low sleep mode power consumption, one guy who bought my other board Atmega1248 breakout board available on Tindie measured the sleep current at 3µA!!! (I haven't verified this personally). Full Bill of materials, build, bootloading and Arduino IDE setup will be supplied as pdf's or doc's on purchase, using a wetransfer file upload/download link by e-mail. This board has been tested on Arduino IDE 1.01 & 1.6.5 and in the documents I will explain how to load the board data for both IDE versions.
Please ask questions and I will do my utmost to help.
