This is the PCB kit from Sound-Force.nl, and the panel from MMyModularJourney both places where you can download these files for free and order from any pcb manufacturer of your choice. This product is for you who dont want to go through the process of ordering your own PCBs.
Both PCBs and panel is ofcourse lead free.

Observe that one of the ways to make it throughhole was to exchange the DAC to a 12bit DAC instead of the 16bit DAC of the original. This has been changed in the firmware for the TH version aswell.

You will need a bunch of "hard to get" components, all of these also listed on the webpage. One really special component is the STM32 development board needed for this project which really needs to be the 128kb flash variant, and also a programmer for this board. I have tried a few different variants but the only one I have found working so far is the STM32F103CBT6 (with 128kb Flash memory) which have all soared in price since the "chipocalypse"... the site does say the STM32F103C8T6 (note the CB vs C8 difference) should work, but it only has 64kb of Flash memory, so while it might work I cant guarantee it, but have some on order to try them out.

Why did you make it?

In my ongoing youtube series "Modular in a Week" I go through a lot of modules you can build. And for one of the episodes this is the module to build. And to make it easier to get hold of the PCB and panel set I have it in my store at an affordable price.

This is a fairly easy throughhole diy module that will give you a REALLY POWERFUL and high quaility voltage controlled oscillator at a fraction of the cost that it would cost to buy a new one, second hand one or ready built clone one.

Fantastic Price and Fast Shipping!

Apologies for such a late review.... I honestly don't know how the PCBs are so cheap and shipping is so reasonable. Thanks for putting this up for sale! Lots of support and plenty of documentation. ALMOST have my Braids finished!

Great Buy. I got my first Braids.

Need to just order the parts my next buy. Looking forward to the build love the THT components. It will be my first digital oscillator. Gotta get into programming.

Brilliant module

The STM32F103CBT6 is currently hard to find. There's a person on eBay selling STM32F103C8T6 (notice the last 8 instead of B) that have been replaced with 128kb variant STM32 SOIC, effectively turning it into the STM32F103CBT6 that's needed for this project. I went for this option and it worked out very well but you could also do it yourself and save quite a bit of money. Other than that the module was pretty easy to assemble. I'm not a fan of the 0204 through-hole resistor package (0207 is more common) which I didn't have at hand. I forced regular 0207 resistors in, which worked fine. And about Braids... well... it's almost like a cheat code. This thing is incredibly powerful and fun the play with. Recommended!

Excellent product at a really good price

This PCB kit is a great starting point for building your own MI Braids. You will have to source the components yourself but that is easy since it is standard components that are easy to get hold of. The frontpanel looks great!
