Overview

It's a circuit board. It's a wearable. It's a Christmas tree ornament. It's open source and you can reprogram it yourself using the Arduino IDE. Get it for yourself, get it for that special geek in your life.

Details

The dimensions are roughly 10cm tall, 5cm wide. Has spots for 20 white LED's around the perimeter that are charlieplexed off of an ATTiny45 microcontroller which was programmed with the Arduino IDE to make it easy for the end customer to customize the patterns if they choose to. No longer comes with several (5+) various blinking light patterns pre-programmed into the unit. The lights blink in various patterns, very eye catching.

Use Cases

I solded a lapel pin on the back so you could pin it to your shirt and wear it around, or you can use the spare hole at the top to hang it from your christmas tree with a hook or bit of small twine (not included). Supports two forms of power, CR2032 battery, or an external 3-5v power supply (not included). The battery option is perfect for wearing the unit, while the external power jack comes in handy when hung on a Christmas tree as an ornament.

PCB only. Nothing more. You'll need to source the rest of the components if you want it to work. This is just clearing out of old inventory.

Fantastic Christmas Gift!

I bought a bunch of these for the Tindie team, and they are excellent. I bought mine pre-assembled, and they worked like a charm. Just popped in the battery and the leds lit up like, well, a Christmas tree! Now how am I going to mail them out to the team without them seeing this review...
