A terminal block provides access to an 8 bit digital port that can be programmed for each bit to be either an input or output. Commands can set or clear, as well as getting status if used for inputs. A five bit port can be programmed for either analog or digital inputs. An onboard boost regulator provides power for both the processor and XBEE module all from two AA batteries. Optionally an external 3.3VDC supply can be used as well. A battery pack can also be mounted on the back side to make this truly a remote sensor package.
These have been installed in industrial conditions for monitoring motors and switches, doors and windows. Greenhouse sensor monitoring and watering control. Solar systems for monitoring voltages. The applications are endless!
