What is this device?

The light bar design uses four CREE 1304 COB LED modules to create a high intensity light source that can operate directly from a battery or other power source from 3V up to 18V.

The light bar can mount directly to aluminum extrusion or virtually any surface.

Light output can be modified by changing a resistor value to yield a maximum of 10 Watts with a conversion efficiency greater than 90%. The default value yields 3.6 Watts which requires about 0.75 amps with a 5V input.

A compact slide switch provides local on/off control.

Why did you make it?

I wanted high brightness lighting solution for the build area of my 3D Printer and a form factor that would not interfere with access to the printer interior. This light bar mounts flush to the inside of the 2020 aluminum extrusion frame, providing ample lighting while being out of the way.

What comes in the box?

The light bar is shipped with directions and a link to the schematic. Also provided are spare connectors and pins for power connection.

Options:

The light bar comes standard with 5000K LED's (bright white) but can also be supplied with 2500K LED's (warm white). Please message me for warm white option.
