This one uses centrifugal fans, so at the high setting it can get a higher flow rate, but makes more noise than the axial fan type model.
I haven't finished the firmware yet, to implement automatic wind compensation/track the optimal efficiency point. However because these are high pressure fans, that is not really needed. I can still load in the optimum-efficiency firmware once the it is in beta stage, it should be in beta within a few days.
The efficiency of this unit is about 88% sensible efficiency, and 45% latent, averaged over the year.
Flow rate is from 7 on low to 28 CFM on high setting.
I made it as part of the process of developing the cad files for the OpenERV.
This one is unique, in that it uses the centrifugal blowers, however I don't think much else will change in the future.
This gives it a higher flow rate but also higher noise level at the max flow setting.
I have added rubber washers to the stepper motor and mounting bracket to reduce the noise, it is quite low now, you can't hear the stepper motor over the fans except on the low setting.
This would be great for a greenhouse or basement, where noise isn't an issue, or an attic perhaps.
