P5500-SOLO is a single path antenna for WiFi application. It is purposely designed and perfectly tuned to deliver a solid 4dBi gain in 5.2 - 5.8 GHz frequency band.

The mechanical design of P5500-SOLO antenna allows it to be used as a stand-alone antenna directly attached to WiFi radio appliance or to serve as a building lock for patch array projects.

It has to be pointed out that patch antenna is a semi-directional radiator using a flat metal strip mounted above a ground plane. Radiation from the back of the antenna is effectively cut off by the ground plane, enhancing forward directionality. This type of antenna is also known as a microstrip antenna.
