HUB16-2.0 is purposely designed 16-port USB 2.0 Hub with 360 degree arrangement for x8 horizontal ports connectors and 360 degree arrangement for x8 vertical ports connectors.

Obvious question is - why yet another USB Hub? What's wrong with plethora of USB 2.0 hubs available from Amazon or any neighborhood computer store? What makes it so special and unique?

If you are wireless pentester, researcher or just wireless enthusiast experimenting with multiple USB wireless dongles (WiFi, BlueTooth, ZeegBee, LoRa etc. etc.) you will quickly realize that USB hubs available do have design aimed mostly towards a simple cable "plug-in" arrangement or dongles that are really tiny and with internal antennas. When one is trying to plug a multiple dongles with external antenna arrangement(s) or ones that are a bit "bigger" then your average BlueTooth gadget, that's when one realizes that it would be nice to have these connectors a bit more apart as well as locating them in a more "RF friendly" manner that will allow proper spacing between adjacent antennas from different devices. When we tried to test a multi-radio arrangement with Kismet in order to identify a suitable radio we were after such a hub, but turned out that things like these just do not exist, period. The only "closest" to desirable design was one that they stopped to make back in 2010 - 400-HUB009. That's when HUB16 idea was born.

NOTE: HUB16-2.0 comes WITHOUT power adapter and USB cable - these items are much cheaper to get from Amazon, just make sure that you have enough power budget (i.e. assuming a maximum standard power consumption of USB 2.0 device in bus powered arrangement being 500mA, you probably are after 5V/8-10A power supply with 2.1mm connector).

HUB16-2.0 PCB is delivered fully assembled with two cover (top and bottom) black plates to protect assembly (as shown on a picture).

As an example, we were using this hub for out RF power measurements in our direction finding tests, just as shown on pictures (Alfa ACM dongles with Alfa antennas and with Alftel Antipodal Vivaldi antennas).
