This display consumes only three I/O Arduino pins, no matter what you decide to use. An alphanumeric LCD display gives to your Arduino project a lot of possibilities and can be extremely useful also if you use if as a debug tool as an alternative to the serial connection.

This kit is compatible with any micro controller board supporting the SPI protocol. The kit is easy to integrate in your projects, while the Shift LCD Library consumes few memory of the board.
To use the LCD kit in your sketches with the last versione of the Arduino IDE you need to install the SHIFT LCD library fixed, available on GitHub
