What is it?

This breakboard board, TRRS Switchblade, connects headphone and mic to your electronics project. The board comes with easy to solder tabs for the SJ-43516 SMT connector. You can get those connectors from Digikey or add them as options. There are six signals broken out:

1. Tip
2. Ring 1
3. Ring 2
4. Switch
5. Ring1-Switch
6. Tip-Switch

The switch terminals are shorted to the corresponding Tip and Ring1 without a cable plugged; open when the cable is plugged in.

Why did you make it?

I was dabbling with audio signals and needed an easy way to work with them.

What makes it special?

It's got a cool little silkscreen image that details which parts of the connector correspond to the pins.
