What is it?

Typical breakout boards you find on Sparkfun or Adafruit only fit a single IC. Just about every IC requires at least bypass capacitors; some require pullups as well. This board allows you to add those extra passives onto the breakout itself, making breadboard deployment a snap. For 6 pins, there are 5 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 1 = 15 possible pairs, so this board includes pads for 15 possible passives! (hence the name pin^2 for those of you knowledgeable in discrete math).

This is also a great first 0805 SMT soldering project. Put together a few regulators with 0805 decoupling caps on these boards and you will be a soldering master!
